August 3 Roswaithe to Grasmere via bus Heidi's Gras Lodge

5 am

The view from our window and it only looks sweet from the inside.  Thinking of a mobile transport to Grasmere.  Threats of thunderstorms, wind, fog and rain with poor to no signage makebus uneasy.  Stay tuned.

The full English breakfast minus the blood pudding!

Ok.  Here's a quiz.  Who knows what this is? Guesses?  Rod, Maria, and Liz:  shhhhhh!

Decision made with help from our host.  Taking the bus to Grasmere.

Barb and Kevin on the way to the bus. Sunny from the inside out!

Here's the view from the bus.  When we found out that this segment claims the most lost walkers, we felt certain of our decision.

Grasmere is a lovely tourist town with many outdoor outfitter shops. A new set of maps, a GPS app and a plastic map case brings new confidence. Here's our hotel, repute's to have the best coffee on the Coast to Coast.  We'll find out tomorrow morning.

Lunch!

William Wordsworth's abode. A personal thrill.

A beautiful photo

Dinner was memorable at the Potted Plant.  Italian food all around. Always a comfort.

Tomorrow we're back on the trail.

More pics.
